Hiker Saves Puppy Escaped from Meat Farm

This comes from Guardians of Rescue:

Guardians International received an email from an American gentleman who lives in South Korea. He reached out to us asking for help knowing that we are active in rescuing dogs fromthe dog meat trade there.

He explained in his email that he was on a hike when he saw a little pup roaming alone in the mountains. This little guy most likely escaped from a dog farm. His first reaction was to helpthe dog. A friend that was with him advised that he just leave him there and they continue on their hike. Well, James couldn’t do that. He picked up this innocent, needy pup and brought him to his apartment.

This is when he reached out to us. His landlord would not allow the dog to stay and James’s bigger concern was feeling like he didn’t have a safe place to bring him, being aware of the dogmeat trade there. Of course we told James that we would be happy to help both he and the dog but we had to raise the funds to cover his transport costs.

During this time James named the dog Pickle and bonded with him. He expressed to us that this experience of caring for Pickle taught him a lot and he grew to love him.

Well, the day has come. Our supporters generosity has made it possible for Pickle to come to the U.S. James spent his last night with him and although it was very difficult to say goodbye, what James ultimately wanted for Pickle was to be safe and live the American dream.

Pickle and another rescued pup will be arriving in San Francisco tomorrow. He already has adopters who will be anxiously awaiting for him. Thank you to James and to all involved in this team rescue effort.

(His name will remain Pickle.)puppy

Together We Save Them, locally and globally.

A 21 first century China with their 500 years old festival revealed ( Yulin Dog Festival ) 10 to 20 million dogs are killed every year, Most Chinese are people with lack of respect not just towards innocent animals but also towards people from the east continent, these are people without  any heart and feelings, they have bad feelings since the moment they are born, what a shame for the humanity. Thanks for some groups in China who dedicate their lives to make a difference in this world.

I live in Los Angeles California  and you can see the face of these China people when they see a dog with such a cold heart and  indifference.

From now on Chinese food will be a bad choice in my diet.

Warning from a global team of scientists: Climate change is as threatening as nuclear war

Gone are the days when talk of global destruction conjured images of nuclear bombs and mushroom clouds. Scientists are now warning that the modern-day parallel to the Cold Era threat of nuclear warfare is global warming.

A newly released report on the issue of climate change begins with a warning that countries should view it as they once viewed the specter of nuclear war: as a major threat to national and international security. The report, “Climate Change: a Risk Assessment,” was commissioned by the UK’s foreign office and cowritten by leading environmental scientists from all over the world.

The analysis reaffirms many well-documented assertions about climate change: Global temperatures are rising drastically, leading to rising sea levels as well as widespread drought and famine, which threaten human lives on all continents, especially in developing nations

Increasing rates of greenhouse gas emissions are the leading cause of rising global temperatures, which the authors say are likely to increase by at least 2°C in this century but may rise as high as 7°C in the 22nd century.

Those changes, the authors assert, would “increase the risks of state failure in states that are already highly water-stressed or food insecure, at the same time as suffering from poverty, social tensions, and poor governance.”
North Africa and the Middle East would be particularly vulnerable, the report states, since terrorist activity in those regions could exacerbate environmental problems. The calamitous effects of climate change could force millions of people to migrate from the most affected regions, destabilizing borders and leading to a global humanitarian crisis.
Joyce Anelay, the UK’s minister of state for its Foreign and Commonwealth Office, warned in the report that states must develop policies and strategies that go beyond reducing carbon emissions to address the political and security ramifications.
The future isn’t apocalyptic, though, according to the report. Technological innovation and smart policy decisions could yet reverse the forces of global warming. “An honest assessment of risk,” it concludes, “is no reason for fatalism.”
Conclusion
Who knows, probably the People’s Republic of China has any solution? Eating polar bears and manufacture of imitation bags and boots, to be sold for a third of the market. The Republic of China and its people are an embarrassment to the modern world, cruelly kill their animals they raise and steal to eat them and make all kinds of products with bones and skin, it is a shame of society, with its tall skyscrapers and largest army in the world among themselves hate and attack.
In our next publication we will discuss more of these atrocities.

A Tribute For Daniel Martin and His Pit Bull Reagan

It was two o’clock in the morning on the side of of a random house when Daniel first met Reagan… Little did he know, he would end up being the most important thing in his life. As he walked near the side yard of that house, he heard a whimper. He opened the gate and saw Reagan laying in a puddle of blood, left to die after a fight. It was one of the worst moments of his life.

A one hundred pound pit bull… No food, no water, and scared to death. From that moment on, his life changed. After six months and seven surgeries , he was back to health.

Whether it was work, or vacation, Reagan was by his side, no matter what. It was perfect.

Question: “What sort of New Year’s Resolution should a Christian make?”

Answer:The practice of making New Year’s resolutions goes back over 3,000 years to the ancient Babylonians. There is just something about the start of a new year that gives us the feeling of a fresh start and a new beginning. In reality, there is no difference between December 31 and January 1. Nothing mystical occurs at midnight on December 31. The Bible does not speak for or against the concept of New Year’s resolutions. However, if a Christian determines to make a New Year’s resolution, what kind of resolution should he or she make?

Common New Year’s resolutions are commitments to quit smoking, to stop drinking, to manage money more wisely, and to spend more time with family. By far, the most common New Year’s resolution is to lose weight, in conjunction with exercising more and eating more healthily. These are all good goals to set. However,1 timothy 4:8 instructs us to keep exercise in perspective: “For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.” The vast majority of New Year’s resolutions, even among Christians, are in relation to physical things. This should not be.

Many Christians make New Year’s resolutions to pray more, to read the Bible every day, and to attend church more regularly. These are fantastic goals. However, these New Year’s resolutions fail just as often as the non-spiritual resolutions, because there is no power in a New Year’s resolution. Resolving to start or stop doing a certain activity has no value unless you have the proper motivation for stopping or starting that activity. For example, why do you want to read the Bible every day? Is it to honor God and grow spiritually, or is it because you have just heard that it is a good thing to do? Why do you want to lose weight? Is it to honor God with your body, or is it for vanity, to honor yourself?

Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez defeats Erislandy Lara by split decision

Mexico’s Saul “Canelo” Alvarez would like another crack at Floyd Mayweather Jr., and tonight he faces a fighter whom he and others believe represents a good proving ground before a possible rematch next year.

In Cuba’s Erislandy Lara, a slick, skilled boxer raised in his native country’s impressive amateur system, Alvarez (43-1-1, 31 knockouts) is expected to deal with a quicker, defensive-minded foe who represents a more complex junior-middleweight test than Alvarez’s most recent opponent, forward-charging Alfredo Angulo.

Alvarez is expected to enter the ringer heavier and attempt to impose pressure on Lara (19-1-2, 12 KOs), trying to force him to the ropes and land heavy-handed punches.

World Cup: Netherlands defeat Brazil in third place playoff

The Netherlands compounded a horrible week for Brazilian football by triumphing in the World Cup third place playoff match in Brasilia Saturday.

Chaotic defending helped the Dutch race into an early lead with Robin van Persie scoring a penalty before Daley Blind added a second soon after.

Brazil spent much of the second period looking for a way back into the game but despite a couple of dangerous looking free-kicks and a solid claim for a penalty of their own never looked like clawing back the deficit.

A late strike by Georginio Wijnaldum then piled even more misery on the World Cup hosts.

Netherlands (Holanda) vs Argentina World Cup 2014 – Prediction, TV Schedule, Date, and Time

The Netherlands (Holanda) vs Argentina match will be played this Wednesday, July 9, 2014 (1:00 PM Pacific) at the Arena Corinthians in Sao Paulo. The second semifinal will decide who faces Germany on July 13 in the grand final.

Neither of these teams has lost a match up to the semifinal, but they had a tough task to accomplish in their latest games. Netherlands survived a penalty shootout scare against the biggest surprise of the tournament, Costa Rica. Meanwhile, Argentina had a tense match against the very solid Belgium, but with Gonzalo Higuain’s excellent goal, they won by 1-0.

Arena Corinthias Sao Paolo

These two teams have a rich history of encounters in the World Cup. Netherlands is the more successful team, they won two out of four matches, and one of them ended as a draw. However, the most important match they’ve ever played was won by Argentina. That was in the 1978 World Cup final, when Argentina won 3-1, after extra time.

Netherlands will seek revenge in this game for that loss, and if we look back at the previous matches of both teams, perhaps they are slightly more favored to win this one.

Both managers have encountered problems with injured players. Angel Di Maria, who had a terrific tournament so far, was injured in the match against Belgium, and he won’t feature in this semifinal. However, Argentina received a boost since Sergio Aguero recovered from his injury, and will be available for the pick, and is expected to be in the starting lineup for this match.

In the Netherlands team, Nigel de Jong is injured, and Ron Vlaar, Leroy Fer, and most significantly, Ruben Van Persie, are doubtful to start – they will have to undergo a late fitness test before the match.

Netherlands vs Argentina Prediction

It is very possible that one goal will decide the outcome of this clash, and the team which scores first will have an enormous advantage – both teams are great when it comes to counter attacks, and if their opponents leave them enough space, it could be fatal for them.

Considering all the facts, it is expected that this game won’t abound with goals, and a solitary goal from Messi or Robben could very well dictate the outcome. The Netherlands vs Argentina match will end in a 1-0 win for Argentina.

All the teams in this year’s World Cup have been very cautious after the knockout rounds have started, and we expect the same mindset from this match. The stake is too high, and both Argentina and Netherlands will have a defensive approach, and rely on their talented attackers and individual actions in attack.

Also, both teams proved to be pretty vulnerable on the flanks, so Messi and Robben have the chance to be the heroes of their respective national teams.

Brazil vs Germany World Cup 2014: Five reasons why Brazil will win

Tragedy has struck for Brazil as they have lost their star player Neymar for the rest of the World Cup due to a back injury and will also be missing their captain Thiago Silva for tonight’s game against Germany. However, there is still hope for the hosts and here are five reasons why they should remain optimistic ahead of their semi-final with Germany…

1. Luiz Felipe Scolari

The Brazilian manager has never lost a World Cup match with Brazil. He has proved himself a skillful and talented manager that led the Selecao to a World Cup victory in 2002 before taking them this far even though he had to cope with a personal loss. In between his stints in charge of Brazil he also led Portugal to a World Cup semi-final and the final of Euro 2004.

2. Home advantage

The rowdy crowd at Belo Horizonte will be one-sided and every time Brazil pick up the ball the cheers will be heard all around the country – the same goes for the boos every time a German touches the ball. The fans have proved to be the Selecao’s 12th man and tonight will be no different.

The World Cup’s final four has two classic matchups, with European powerhouses taking on equally dynamic teams from South America. Germany and Brazil go first, on Tuesday afternoon, followed by the Netherlands and Argentina on Wednesday. Here is a look at both games.

BRAZIL vs. GERMANY

Fact That Sounds Untrue but Isn’t: While Germany and Brazil have combined to win eight World Cups, and while at least one of them has played in the final four of every tournament since 1938, they have met only once in the World Cup. That came in the 2002 final in Yokohama, Japan. Brazil won, 2-0. Its coach that day? The same one it has now — Luiz Felipe Scolari.

Brazil’s Player to Watch: Dante is expected to start in central defense for Brazil in place of the team’s suspended captain, Thiago Silva, who picked up a yellow card against Colombia on Friday. On paper, Dante for Thiago Silva is a losing proposition for Brazil, but there’s a wrinkle: Dante has played for Bayern Munich since 2012, and since Germany uses as many as six players from Bayern in its starting lineup, that familiarity could be invaluable. (He’s not alone: another hard-edge Brazilian with recent time at Bayern, midfielder Luiz Gustavo, is back from a yellow-card suspension.) Germany midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger seemed to acknowledge that Dante’s availability might help Brazil make the best of a bad situation.

Germany’s Thomas MüllerCreditMohamed Messara/European Pressphoto Agency

“We know him well, and he knows us,” Schweinsteiger said. “Well, except for Thomas Müller; with him no one ever knows what’s coming.”

Germany’s Player to Watch: Müller has the freedom to go where he wants and do what he wants under Coach Joachim Löw, and that often means he pops up in the perfect position. He has nine goals in 11 career World Cup matches, 1 more than Diego Maradona had and 6 fewer than his teammate Miroslav Klose and Brazil’s Ronaldo, who share the record of 15. It may not be long before they are both looking up at Müller, who is still only 24.

The Costa Rica News (TCRN) –Sassy, a cockatoo found on a poultry farm in Singapore gave her ‘blessing’ to the quarter finals and predicted that the Costa Rica will beat Holland on Saturday, accessing the semi finals for the World Cup Brazil 2014. The choice was made on Friday, a few hours after the development of the quarterfinals. “Sassy the cockatoo who is a star in the Jurong Bird Park High Flyer Show in Singapore, was asked to predict the quarter finals of the World Cup and elected Belgium, Brazil, Costa Rica and Germany as potential semifinalists,” said a publication from the site Yahoo Sports . Brazil Takes a Painful Step Forward World Cup 2014: Neymar’s Injury Dampens Brazil’s Win Over Colombia

FORTALEZA, Brazil — It was an enormous win for Brazil, but it came at a gigantic cost.

Brazil on Friday powered to an impressive 2-1 quarterfinal victory over upstart Colombia at Estádio Castelão, setting off another round of raucous nationwide partying. But the noise and jubilation proved short-lived, as it was revealed after the game that Neymar — the country’s best player and biggest star — would miss the rest of the World Cup after injuring his back in the dying minutes of the hugely physical game.

Neymar’s exit from the World Cup due to a back injury left Brazilians shocked and angered on Friday, darkening the mood after the hosts’ 2-1 win over Colombia in the quarter-finals had sparked nationwide celebrations. The loss of their star player has dented Brazil’s chances of winning a records-extending sixth World Cup, and first on home soil, and left Brazilians wondering who can replace him for Tuesday’s semi-final showdown with Germany. Neymar is stretchered off after suffering the injury “Neymar fractures vertebra and is out of the Cup,” the country’s three main newspapers headlined in their online editions, completely overshadowing accounts of the thrilling 2-1 victory over Colombia. Advertisement The papers published blow-by-blow diagrams of the play in which Neymar was kneed in the back by Colombian defender Juan Zuñiga, burying coverage of the stunning free-kick by David Luiz that sealed Brazil’s victory. “This is terrible news. The worst possible news. Neymar is so important to us,” said student Fabian Ruiz, 19, walking with friends down a street in Belo Horizonte, dressed in Brazil’s trademark canary yellow shirts and quaffing beer from cans. “Without him, the other players will have to fight more. It is going to be so diffIcult against Germany
